Reyes of Texas named House Intelligence chairman
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, has named Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas the next chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, a senior congressional aide tells CNN.
The announcement is expected between 11:30 and 12:00 p.m., ET, congressional aides say. Pelosi called Intelligence Committee aides earlier this morning to inform them of her decision, one congressional aide tells CNN. Rep. Jane Harman of California, the ranking Democrat on the committee who was denied the top post by Pelosi, has called Reyes to offer her full support, a congressional aide says. -- CNN's Andrea Koppel and Deirdre Walsh
