Turnout could hit 66 percent in Connecticut
HARTFORD, Connecticut -- The Secretary of State's office says it is pretty confident that turnout will hit 66 percent in Connecticut once all is said and done.
Lieberman's campaign says they are feeling "cautiously optimistic" and are "hearing good things from their poll workers." One official said, "We are feeling positive. We're certainly glad we are where we are instead of where [Ned] Lamont is." Ned Lamont's campaign says they are "feeling real good." They are especially encouraged by the high voter turnout. Lamont, they say, is still making the rounds of various precincts, hoping to reel in a few more voters. He'll continue to do that until the polls close at 8 p.m. ET. Right now, crews are testing microphones and lights in the large hotel atrium where Lieberman will be later tonight. Balloons and flags have just been placed on the podium. Television crews are jammed into tight quarters. One small slip will land one reporter in another's shot. -- CNN Correspondent Dan Lothian
