Snow: Bolton deserves to be confirmed
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- White House Press Secretary Tony Snow urged Senate Democrats Friday to reevaluate John Bolton's record as U.N. ambassador and said the controversial nominee deserves to be confirmed.
"The president believes that John Bolton has done an exemplary job," Snow told reporters during the daily White House Briefing. "And if people fairly will examine his record: his real accomplishments, his record at the United Nations that he will, not only will have earned confirmation, but will receive it." President Bush re-nominated Bolton for U.N. Ambassador Thursday. He is currently serving in the position on a recess appointment. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Delaware, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations committee, said Thursday Democrats will not support Bolton's re-nomination attempt. -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
