Schumer, now number-three Dem, to meet with reporters Tuesday
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Shortly after senate Democrats handed him the number-three leadership role in the chamber, New York Sen. Charles Schumer announced he will meet with reporters Tuesday to discuss his new role as Vice Chair of the Conference. Schumer, widely praised for his leadership of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the 2006 election cycle, also plans to stay in that position heading into 2008. -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
