Mehlman: Exit polls skew toward Dems
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The first wave of exit polls were released at 5 p.m. ET, but Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman told CNN Tuesday he won't put much stock in what they have to say. The RNC head said exit polls are more likely to be conducted in urban areas that skew toward Democratic voters. "Republicans, as you've recently noted, typically, and conservatives, have historically done better in the out part of the state, in the more rural parts of the state," Mehlman told Wolf Blitzer on 'The Situation Room.' "And often the exit pollsters whose job it is to produce, to get lots of people who are willing to do interviews, will concentrate on the more metropolitan parts of the state." --CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney |
