Hoyer and Murtha to square off for Majority Leader
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Two senior House Democrats will square off for the right to serve as majority leader in the 110th Congress, CNN has learned.
A senior source close to House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, said the Maryland Democrat will run for the majority leader position and a top aide to Rep. John Murtha said the Pennsylvania Democrat, too, would run for the post. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, is likely to be elected the first woman to serve as House speaker. -- CNN Political Editor Mark Preston
