Dean heads to battleground states
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean heads to the battleground states of Ohio and Michigan Friday where Democratic candidates are in close races with their GOP opponents four days before Election Day.

Dean attended a get-out-the-vote luncheon earlier Friday with Rep. Marcy Kaptur and other Democratic leaders in Toledo. Ohio is hosting several close House races as well as a crucial senate race between GOP incumbent Mike DeWine and Rep. Sherrod Brown. Polls show Democrats are leading in both statewide races.

Dean then heads to Michigan where he is slated to attend rallies in Ann Arbor and Lansing. The state is playing host to a senate and governor's race.
