Daschle to discuss homeland security
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle will discuss the state of homeland security Wednesday in a forum sponsored by the Center for American Progress and the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.
Former Rep. Lee Hamilton, who was the Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission, will also take part in the forum. Hamilton is also the co-chairman of the Iraq Study Group, which is reviewing policy options for the war in Iraq. Daschle, who has expressed interest in running for the Democratic presidential nomination, has remained a presence in Washington, DC since his 2004 defeat to Sen. John Thune, R-South Dakota. The former majority leader is currently an advisor to lobbying firm Alston & Bird and a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
