CNN projects: Democrat Cardin holds Maryland Senate seat
(CNN) -- CNN projects Democratic Rep. Ben Cardin will win the Maryland Senate race, defeating Republican Lt. Gov. Michael Steele. Cardin will fill the seat now held by retiring Democrat Paul Sarbanes.
