Bush to formally nominate Martinez to head RNC Tuesday
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush will formally announce Tuesday that Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Florida, will make a bid to lead the Republican National Committee, a senior Administration official tells CNN.
Bush will make his announcement from the Oval Office after meeting with senior RNC officials. Martinez's nomination to head the RNC was first reported by CNN Monday. -- CNN White House Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux
