Bush: 'Democrat Party had a good night last night'
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Wednesday admitted he was surprised by the strong showing for the Democrats in Tuesday's midterm elections, saying he thought his Republican Party would "do fine."
"Shows what I know," Bush said in a news conference in which he also announced the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. "But I thought we were going to be fine in the election." |
