Bush: Leaders must be held accountable for 'wrongdoing'
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Wednesday said politicians and others in positions of responsibility must be "held to account" for any "wrongdoing."
Bush had been asked at a White House news conference about scandals now embroiling Republicans in relation to his early campaign messages in 2000, when he discussed the importance of responsibility and ethics. "If any person in any party fails to live up to high standards, they ought to be held to account," Bush replied. |
