Reaction to Clinton interview tops today's White House gaggle
From CNN's Alex Mooney
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In an energized off-camera press gaggle Monday, White House Press Secretary and former Fox News anchor Tony Snow responded to a reporter's question on President Clinton's fiery interview on Sunday with his former network with a clever play on words: "He retorts, you decide." Snow also said that media reports about the leaked National Intelligence Estimate mischaracterized the document as saying the war in Iraq had made terrorism worse. "Those are conclusions from blind sources," Snow said. Reporters also asked why the five fundraisers President Bush will be attending this week will be closed to the press, suggesting that it might indicate that GOP candidates do not want to appear with the embattled Commander-in-Chief in public. "You're going to have to ask [the candidates]," Snow said. "That's not my reading, but feel free to ask them." Read full gaggle transcript |
