Political Radar: A look ahead to tomorrow
* President Bush is scheduled to begin his day on Tuesday by signing the "Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006" at 9:45 am ET. He then meets with the Afghan President Hamid Karzai at 10:20 am ET and the two leaders hold a joint press availability at 11:40 am. Bush then attends an Iowa, Arkansas and Wisconsin "Victory 2006 Reception" at a private residence in DC at 6:05 pm ET.
* Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, and Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, hold a 10:15 am ET news conference on Capitol Hill with religious leaders to discuss "the importance of passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation in this Congress." * House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, holds a pen-and-pad at 10:30 am ET in the room H-107 of the Capitol. * House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, holds a pen-and-pad briefing at 12:30 pm ET in room H-306 of the Capitol. * First lady Laura Bush attends a fundraising reception for GOP congressional candidate Joyce Padgett in Granville Ohio at 12:25 pm ET before heading off to Utica, New York to attend a 4 pm ET fundraiser for GOP congressional candidate Ray Meier. * Former Sen. John Edwards, D-North Carolina, attends a 3 pm ET campaign rally for Democratic senate candidate Jim Webb in Fredericksburg, Virginia. * Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean attends the "Grassroots Democracy Bond Event" at 6 pm ET in Austin, Texas. |
