Smoking and Leg Pain
back

Question:
My husband often complains of a burning sensation on his leg. He says it gets painful at times. This is above the knee and on the larger surface of the leg. He is a pack and a half a day smoker. I think it could be a circulation problem from his smoking. He did see a doctor for it. He was told not to wear a tight belt or to wear his tool belt. The doctor thought this was pinching a nerve. This didn't alleviate the symptoms. What do you think? Should he see a physician again?

Answer:
I think it would be a good idea to have him see the same physician he saw again. If the physician's initial suggestions didn't help, he or she might have more ideas. He should see that physician for a follow-up.
