Black churches take aim at AIDS

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- AIDS has taken a disproportionate toll among African Americans, but many black churches have been hesitant to address the subject. Now, some say the churches' influence in the community makes them one of the best allies in slowing the spread of the deadly disease.

As CNN Medical Correspondent Eileen O'Connor reports, an effort is under way to reach out and spread the word about AIDS prevention and treatment.
