Emergency first aid not just for humans

June 25, 1998

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Because calling 911 is not an option if your pet has a medical emergency, some New Yorkers are learning to take matters into their own hands.

CNN's Jeanne Moos reports on the basics of mouth-to-snout resuscitation -- and the doggie Heimlich maneuver.
