    (CNN) -- Simple but delicately elegant recipes fill the pages of "Country Weekend Entertaining" (Doubleday), the third book by "Loaves and Fishes" restaurant proprietor Anna Pump.

    The book is really not about the intricacies of entertaining -- there is little on setting a table or creating a guest list. But a hefty collection of gourmet -- but not too grand -- dinners would make entertaining easy.

    Recipes are pulled from Pump's bed and breakfast, The Bridgehampton Inn, as well as the Loaves and Fishes restaurant, both in the Hamptons on New York's Long Island. Commonly used ingredients are reminiscent of a fanciful ladies' lunch - cucumbers, buttermilk, salmon, goat cheese.

    The book is divided in two: spring/summer recipes are light and cool and full of fruit, fall/winter recipes are heartier and heavy on root vegetables. Most dishes require the simplest of herbs, spices and ingredients and are short on directions.

    The German/Danish influences of Pump's childhood in Europe are evident in the strong breakfasts of sourdough apple pancakes, orange French toast and scrambled eggs with cream cheese and chives.

    Pictures are few, but not really necessary for the fairly simple recipes. However, with so many meals and musings from The Bridgehampton Inn, the one thing missing was a picture of the place.
