How to Cook Rice

A shallow 5 quart pot with handles is the key to perfect rice.

  1. Bring water to a boil.

2. Stir in a cup of rice and a pinch of salt.
  3. Heat until boiling.

4. Give the rice one good stir, cover and let cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes, check the rice. It's done when tender. If it's still a bit hard, cover and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes.
