An exit poll is a survey of selected voters taken soon after they leave their voting place. Pollsters use this sample information, collected from a small percentage of voters, to estimate and project how all voters or specific segments of the voters sided on a particular race or ballot measure. While there are not exit polls on specific House races, candidate exit polls are available from some states with one statewide congressional district. There is also general exit poll information about voters -- nationally and by region -- that estimates who voted in House races and why.
