In addition to Florida and Ohio, CNN Headline News anchor Erica Hill is keeping close tabs on the presidential race in Hawaii -- a once reliably Democratic state that has become a toss-up, according to polls, in recent weeks. She is also closely following U.S. Senate races in Colorado (where Ken Salazar and Pete Coors are in a tight battle), Illinois (where Barack Obama, keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic convention, is expected to score a victory), South Dakota (where Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle is locked in a close race with his Republican challenger, John Thune) and her home state of Georgia (where Denise Majette and John Isakson bid to replace Sen. Zell Miller). View races
John Mercurio's races
Minority Leader Tom Daschle's re-election bid in South Dakota is high on CNN Political Editor John Mercurio's top races-to-watch. Mercurio is also following the U.S. House race in Kentucky's 4th District, where Democrat Nick Clooney (father of actor George Clooney) goes against Republican Geoff Davis. The election to succeed Montana Gov. Judy Martz and how well Barack Obama does in his Illinois Senate race also have Mercurio's attention. View races
Bob Novak's races

Carlos Watson's races
In addition to the presidential race, CNN political analyst Carlos Watson tracks the possible emergence of new gubernatorial stars in Missouri and Washington, as well as several key ballot initiatives that could affect presidential campaigns both now and in the future. Watson will also look at the battle for control of the Senate and whether Republicans will sweep the five open Senate seats in the South, or whether white women candidates like South Carolina's Inez Tenenbaum and Florida's Betty Castor become the new faces (and saviors) of the Southern Democratic Party. Judy Woodruff's races
Veteran CNN anchor Judy Woodruff will keep track of several U.S. Senate races that may return control of the chamber to Democrats or, instead, bolster the Republicans' advantage. Woodruff will also be watching several ballot initiatives that could affect turnout and, thus, the presidential race. Several showdown states, like Ohio, will consider gay marriage bans, while Colorado voters will decide whether their electoral votes will split in the traditional winner-take-all format or be allocated proportionally (thus split between candidates).
