ALMA, Wisconsin (CNN) -- As they do every year, thousands of graceful tundra swans on their way to winter feeding grounds are making a pit stop in a marsh near Alma, Wisconsin.
Descending out of the sky with a cacophony of their fowl language -- a not-so-graceful honking -- the swans put on a show for the crowds who gather to see them. The yearly migration through Alma, along the upper Mississippi River, lasts about 10 days.
The swans are on their way from the Arctic Circle to the Chesapeake Bay. For some reason, and without fail, Alma is a must stop on their itinerary.
