RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (CNN) -- The Amazon rain forest -- the
world's largest -- is dwindling at an alarming rate, despite
a 1992 pledge by world leaders to preserve it.
As those leaders gathered for the second United Nations Earth
Summit this week, CNN's Marina Mirabella visited Brazil to
view the Amazon basin's destruction, and learn why it
continues unabated.
