The Economic Crisis In Cairo
![]() In Egypt filming an hour-long special on the Middle East due to air in the nenxt few months, the Inside the Middle East team filed a quick spot on the financial crisis in Egypt for CNN International. The main Cairo stock index has lost over 20% over the last two sessions. But for ordinary Egyptians, it is the price of basic commodities that is creating uncertainty and concern. There have been protests over the rising cost of food. The worry for most Egyptians isn't the stock market, but the fruit and vegetable market.
I have been waiting the last three days for this blog to talk about the attack on the Arab family in Akka by Jewish racist groups.after three days the problem is still there.I hope some one write about it.
Apart for all the economic crisis subject worries and with great respect to all others IME presenters, it’s so great to see Hala back presenting IME, and it’s good to know that there will an hour-long special on the IME. It was about time.
6.39, an Arab provocatively drove through a predominantly Jewish area of Acre on Yom Kippur, playing loud music, and got into an argument which developed into a fight. A false rumour reached another part of the town that the Arab was killed and Acre Arabs started rioting, smashing Jewish buildings and cars. Since then, both populations of the town have been involved in rioting. Your comment is misleading. Even the Arab leaders in Acre have condemned the driver for starting the trouble.
