Al Qaeda-Style Attack In Northern Lebanon
A few months ago, there were fears of a civil conflict within Lebanon and a meltdown of the government. Today, there is a unity government (fragile, and approved after laborious discussions, but in place) and a planned visit by Lebanese president Michel Sleiman to Damascus. Despite - or maybe because of - the tenuous political progress, there is again violence today in Lebanon. A bus carrying off-duty Lebanese Army troops was targeted in the Northern city of Tripoli. Suspicion fell on extremist Islamists seeking revenge against the Lebanese military. A senior member of Lebanon's internal security forces tells CNN 11 people were killed, including two civilians. Watch Your World Today later today for more on the Lebanese president's visit to Damascus and the attack in Northern Lebanon. (Photo AP)
Iran and Hezbollah are the only evils exist in Lebanon ……..Please don’t change the subject….finish them….. Looks like Lebanese government is so afraid from Hezbollah that they want to divert attention to something which doesn’t exist in Lebanon.
Jundi el Sham style meaning Saudi Arabia and Bandar bin sultan are behind this attack.
I hate to say it but every time Lebanon seems to make some sort of step forward, these extremests (Hezbollah) intervene with some bomb or attack and takes them back 10 steps. I say this with confidence that Lebanon cannot be stable with Hezbollah in state that they are. Hezbollah must dissappear somehow. Their years where Lebanon were greateful for their defense of the country are over and they are now ruining Lebanon. There is no doubt that this was Hezbollah trying to send a message. As long as Lebanon keeps its Western and European ties Hezbollah will not be happy and intervene the only way they know how - violence where civilians end up being killed and stability is slowly lost. Go away Hezbollah!
to the previous posters.as a Lebanese my self and by the way I am not shia.your accusing Hezbollah means you know nothing about Lebanon.Hezbollah is not known in doing things like that it is Israel that is the target of Hezbollah not its own people.this crime is done by terrorists linked to fath elislam, and by the way these terrorists hates Hezbollah. another possibility is Israel it is the only one that can benefit from turmoil in Lebanon and Israel is well known for doing things like this.
4:11 You forgot to mention the allied trio against Lebanon who benefit from Lebanon's turmoil: Israel, the US and Saudi Arabia.
to 4.27.maybe Iran gains more than Saudi Arabia from turmoil in Lebanon .look at what Iran is doing in Iraq it might be trying to do the same in Lebanon.I support Hezbollah as long as he faces Israel and defend Lebanon.as far as Iran is concerned I do not believe that Iran have the good of the Arabs in their minds.
It is a pity to see something like this happen when we thought our country can be somewhat stable, and the worst part is that there is a plan for the middle east and we know nothing about it or trying to deny it.
You can blame anyone, and the picture would fit perfect. If you say Syria...ofcourse they have done millions of similar things and instability benefits them a lot. If you say Israel...definitely. they have done worse and those who do not know what has been going on in our region since 1948 should read more books. And then you can say fath l islam, or any other terrorist group. stability will not prevail until we have a strong government that would be able to build strong institutions including a strong and nonsegregated army that would destroy anyone who tries to destabilize the country, ANYONE.
Many Arab people say that the Israel is the biggest enemy of Arabs……but if Israel will take out Hezbollah and Iranian fundamentalist regime than this will be the nicest favor to Arab people anyone has ever done…….Arabs should be lucky to have people who ready to take out Iran and their poodles (Hezbollah)
Freedom writer you're expressing your wishes. Yet you would have to wait one million years to see that 1% of your wishes materialize or become facts.
5:20 "what Iran is doing in Iraq"?!!?? what's happening in Iraq is the result of the famous DEMOCRACY of the US.
to 5.20.what we are seeing in Iraq is the US and Iran agreeing to destroy and partition Iraq.the Americans have the Kurds in the north almost independent from the central government ,and Iran is having its stooges in the south going the same route trying to partition Iraq on Sunni Shia line.Iran is a bigger problem in Iraq than the US.the Iraqi Arabs should fight the Iranian the same way they are fighting the Americans.
