Mideast Snapshot - Reading Textbooks In Iran
Yazd, Iran. March 15th, 2007. Yazd University college students. Photo Mitra Mobasherat.
I compare this photo with a modern university in America and find that its pretty hard on those girls in Iran to follow such harsh traditions and just think if they would like to be just like normal girls of this modern era?
Yes, it is hard for a lot of girls who do not believe in the regime in Iran and wearing hejab daily, but what a lot of people do not understand about Iran is that a majority of university students are young women, and they live normal lives. We go out with friends, drive around the city, and date. Just many things have to happen behind close doors.....but we grew up like this, this is what we know, and we know how make it work.
Hala,
Yazd is so nice of city. We always watch CNn in Iran. Why don't you do you interviews from here? We would want to see you in Iran!! Bia Iran!!
