It's Snowing In Amman - Part III
Taping the March edition of Inside the Middle East with a group of Iraqi kids who say they've never seen this much snow in their lives.

My daughter just returned from the main park in Jerusalem describing a wonderful snowball fight that had taken place between a group of Israeli soldiers and a group of Arab youths.Everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves. It's a shame you weren't there to report on such co-existence and inter-action.
With all the drama that we experience here in Israel its nice to be able to write about something common place. SNOW! Though we get flurries most years it rarely sticks. This week we had about six inches on the ground here in Jerusalem. The city is really unprepared for even this minimal amount and everything was closed down for two days while it melted. Kids were out in force building snowmen and throwing snow balls. The farmers market down town closed and the city busses didnt run. Most of its melted now except for the occasional drift in shaded areas. For a day or so it was the main topic on the news. Though it will probaly be a few years before we get this much again it was nice to take a couple days and forget the politics and just stay warm.
We are back to normal now but it was great to be here when the biggest news on TV was all the white stuff! Peace from Jerusalem, Jesse
