Meserve was part of CNN's Peabody award-winning coverage of Hurricane Katrina, providing the first reports of devastating flooding in New Orleans. Judges for the 2005 David Bloom Award gave Meserve special recognition, saying her coverage revealed "extraordinary composure and compassion as well as her unwavering respect for the facts."
