Lola Martinez

Lola Martinez is a weather anchor for CNN International's World Weather service, based at the network's global headquarters in Atlanta.

Martinez received her training at The Weather Channel networks in Atlanta, GA. She anchored the news program for The Weather Channel Latin America as well as 'Comentarios,' a question and answer weather program. Martinez then went on to work as a weather anchor for The Weather Channel-El Canal del Tiempo.

Martinez has also been involved with films and the stage, having acted in numerous film and theater productions throughout Europe and the United States. She had the leading role in Guernica Films' The Nightingale and the Rose and appeared in Friday Night Productions' The Agony of Defeat. She has also acted in Shakespeare productions including Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet at the Chanticler Theatre in London and the Chopstick Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina.

Additionally, Martinez has hosted the CNN International version of the program 'People in the News.'

Martinez was born in Barcelona, Spain and grew up in London, England. She obtained a Masters degree in English and Spanish Literature from the University of Barcelona. Martinez also earned a Masters degree in Theater, Speech and Film from the University of South Carolina. Additionally, she taught business Spanish at Emory University in Atlanta, where she created the Spanish theater group Taller de Teatro. She is fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English.
