Carrie Lee is the afternoon business anchor for Headline News. Based in CNN's New York bureau, Lee joined the network in December 2001. She has contributed to programs on CNN/U.S. including American Morning, Lou Dobbs Tonight and The Situation Room as well as to others on CNN International, CNN Radio and CNNMoney.com.
Lee's coverage has included stock market coverage from the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq MarketSite, analysis of corporate financial reports and economic data, finance industry and sector trends, breaking business news, evaluation of government programs and congressional bills, personal finance segments and various feature stories.
Before joining CNN, Lee worked as a financial news reporter for CNBC, representing The Wall Street Journal. Prior to CNBC, she wrote a bi-weekly column for The Wall Street Journal Online, covering Internet trends and online investing.
Before joining WSJ.com, Lee wrote personal finance articles and feature stories for SmartMoney magazine, the personal business magazine of The Wall Street Journal. Previously, she was a staff writer at Financial World magazine. She began her career as an editorial assistant at The New York Times.
Lee also wrote the personal finance column for Razor magazine. In 2000, Lee co-anchored the Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition's Guide to Online Investing.
Lee holds a master of arts degree in journalism with honors from New York University and a bachelor of arts degree in economics and business degree from Lafayette College.
