Carolina Escobar is the anchor for En Familia, half-hour program of the network that serves as a guide to parents, and Adelantos, CNN en Español's half-hour show dedicated to covering of the latest developments in the world of science and technology. In addition, she is a regular contributor to Encuentro con Daniel Viotto.
Since joining CNN en Español, Escobar has covered events such as the relapse and eventual death of Pope John Paul II, the war in Iraq and the Columbia Space Shuttle crash. Escobar also worked on the production of "Expedition to Antarctica," a special report featured in Encuentro con Daniel Viotto.
Escobar has interviewed noted figures from the worlds of science and technology like Mario Molina, recipient of the Nobel Prize of Chemistry in 1996.
Previously, Escobar was editor and reporter for the magazine, Académica Klasse, based out of Concepción, Chile, and correspondent for the magazine Caras, out of Santiago, Chile.
Born in Chile, Carolina Escobar Caffarena earned a bachelors degree in journalism, licensed in communication at the Universidad de Desarrollo in Concepción, Chile. She is speaks Spanish, English, German and Italian.
