Harry Beadle

Harry Beadle joined CNNRadio Network in September 1997. He has been a radio journalist since 1969. Prior to joining CNN, Beadle spent more than 20 years with WGST, an all-news radio station in Atlanta, where he served more than 17 of those years as morning drive news anchor. He covered federal, state and local governments, as well as the court system.

Beadle has received awards from Investigative Reporters and Editors, the New York Festivals, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA), the Associated Press and United Press International for his reporting of breaking news and other on-air work.

He grew up in Memphis, Tenn., where he worked for WMC, which is now a CNNRadio affiliate. Beadle was co-founder of the Memphis/Mid-South Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and co-organizer of the Tennessee Conference on Journalism, the Humanities and Public Policy.

Beadle is a professional percussionist and drummer, playing with the Atlanta Pipe Band, a bagpipe troupe, where he was the lead drummer for more than 11 years. He holds several drumming titles in the Eastern U.S. Pipe Band Association.

Beadle studied journalism and music at Memphis State University.
