Justin Armsden is a sports anchor and correspondent for CNN International, based in London.
Armsden combines reporting, anchoring and producing in his role in the CNN sports team. He presents and produces segments of CNNs half-hour weekly show Living Golf and is also one of a team of anchors of World Sport from London.
For the past six years he has worked on sports journalism, focussing on a wide range of issues. Highlights have included his coverage of the death of Pakistan Cricket coach Bob Woolmer in Jamaica in April 2007 for CNN. In 2002 he spent six weeks in Japan co-ordinating the networks coverage of the World football cup.
Armsden joined CNN International in January 2000, initially helping to launch Business International programmes at the height of the dot-com boom.
Prior to joining CNN, Armsden worked as police and crime correspondent for Australias Channel Nine from 1995 until 1999. Before taking up this post he was a police and court reporter for The Gold Coast bulletin newspaper in Queensland, northern Australia, from 1992 until 1995.
During this time he won two Golden Quill Awards in the categories Best News Story (print) and Golden Quill Journalist of the Year.
Armsden started his career in 1990 as general news reporter for the Brisbane Sun in Queensland, Australia. He took up this position straight after completing school in Australia, becoming a journalist at the age of 19, following in the footsteps of his father and brother.
