Is the U.S. doing enough to help Iraqi refugees?
I wonder if we are doing anything at all, considering that we trashed their country for no reason, probably destroyed their homes and plunged them into poverty and homelessness. Is there any wonder where the phrase, "The Ugly American" came from? --
Dave, Huntington, New YorkIsn't it about time we focus on the needs of our own citizens in this country and not worry about the welfare of others. When are we going to stop providing assistance to other countries and support our own? Will this be in 2008?
--Shane, Houston, Texas
Twenty million Mexicans can just stroll over without documentation and only a few Iraqi refugees are allowed to come here. Our government has lost its mind.
--L.S., Richmond, VirginiaWhat do the Republicans have to do to restore their image?Simple Jack, just break away from this President.
--Joe, Key West, Florida
Restore their image? How about not worrying about image and do what's right for America? That's how they restore their image.
--J.T., Washington, D.C.
It's very simple, Jack. They can start by admitting Iraq has been a huge mistake and begin holding diplomatic sessions with the entire Middle East. Next, they can set a timetable for our combat troops to leave Iraq.

If you were moderating either of the CNN debates, what would you ask the candidates?I would ask all the candidates of both parties how they would approach emerging nuclear power interests of developing countries seeking technological modernization for their people. Should countries like Saudi Arabia and Jordan have nuclear power while countries like Iran, and North Korea should not?
--Richard, Seattle, Washington
What specific steps do you plan to take to more effectively manage the current fuel prices that are so negatively plaguing the nation?
--Kurt, Springfield, Kentucky
I would ask: As president, is it more important to defend the value of the U.S. dollar, or the integrity of the U.S. Constitution?
--Jarod, Peoria, Illinois
Jack, my question for the candidates would be: "How many special interest groups do you support, and who are they?" The correct answer should be "Only one, the American citizens!"
