The Situation Online: Chafee Web site hacked?

Rhode Island Sen. Lincoln Chafee's campaign Web site was hacked yesterday and offline for most of the morning before being restored. Chafee's campaign says that while the FBI is investigating, the attack was not politically motivated. On Tuesday, Chafee will be facing off against Stephen Laffey in a hotly-contested Republican Senate primary. Last month, Sen. Joseph Lieberman's campaign Web site was taken offline on the eve of the Connecticut Democratic primary, where he was defeated by Ned Lamont. Federal and state officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the Lieberman Web site as well.
