From The Morning Grind Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) will pay for 15 staffers to work in "key races across the country" as part of his ongoing efforts to "promote a progressive reform agenda." The workers will be known as the Patriot Corps and funded by the Progressive Patriots Fund, Feingold's political action committee. It is the latest sign that the Wisconsin Democrat is seriously considering a run for president, as it appears he is trying to collect chits and build the foundation of a national field operation. Several other potential presidential candidates such as former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner (D) are paying for staffers to work on local and state races in key early states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.
