NEW YORK (CNN) -- The band is called "Deep Blue Something." Their sophomore album is called "Deep Blue
Something." And, as the four guys from Texas will tell you, their music has something for everyone.
"If you like the album you'll say it's
diverse. If you don't like it then it's all over the place and not sticking to any one genre," the group's singer and co-songwriter, Todd Pipes, told CNN's Michael Okwu.

Todd Pipes co-wrote most of the album with his brother, Toby, and the two take turns on lead vocals. The
eclectic sounds were inspired by the music the guys grew up with in the '80s and the '90s, mixing
elements of grunge, rock and alternative. Interestingly, the mix occasionally evokes some '60s Beatlesque sounds as well.
The group's big hit single, "Breakfast At Tiffany's" -- with a video featuring the
band performing in front of Tiffany's in Manhattan -- came out five years ago. So what have Deep Blue Something been doing in the years since?
"We toured America for quite a while and let that album run its course.
That took up some time and then we came back and started writing songs. We wrote and
recorded over a hundred songs and weeded it all down to a good 13 or so," said Pipes.
The band performed their new single "She Is" at SIR Studios in NY for this week's "Showbiz
Sessions."
