The 'Curse' of Woody Allen
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Two words -- "Madagascar" and "Constantinople" -- turn a mild-mannered insurance investigator into a lover and a thief in Woody Allen's latest film, "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion." Allen falls under the spell of a malicious magician-hypnotist in the 1940s-era comedy and finds himself tangled up with unexpected women, most notably, his new co-worker, played by Helen Hunt.
Peter Travers of "Rolling Stone" and Lisa Schwarzbaum of "Entertainment Weekly" debate whether "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion" is a hypnotic comedy, or just puts you to sleep.
