| Reliable Sources ![]() Now more than ever, the press is a part of every story it covers. And CNN's "Reliable Sources" is one of television's only regular programs to examine how journalists do their jobs and how the media affect the stories they cover. Host Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post is the nation's premier media critic, and each week he questions print reporters, television correspondents and Internet bloggers about how the press is covering the major stories of the week. About the Show "Reliable Sources" is one of CNN's longest-running shows, premiering in 1992. The concept for the program was created during the Persian Gulf War when CNN assembled a panel of distinguished journalists, including Walter Cronkite, David Halberstam and Bill Moyers, for a one-hour special, "The Press Goes to War," in which journalists discussed the media coverage of the war.
