Go to: Aired: July 8, 2005 Sgt. Ethan Place, an elite sniper with the U.S. Marine Corps, spent March and April of 2004 holding positions in and around Fallujah locating and shooting insurgents. For his marksmanship, Place was recommended for a Bronze Star, but the recommendation was later upgraded to a Silver Star for his role in saving fellow Marines over the course of the offensive.
