Priorities? Not....

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of hearing about Jamie Lynne Spears? Did anyone count the number of TV hours devoted to that story since "news" of her pregnancy broke as compares to the number of hours we spent on, say, the war in Iraq? Wait. Don't tell me! 'Cause I don't want to know. But here's what I DO know. Thousands of US Soldiers have died in Iraq, not to mentions tens of thousands of Iraqis. Maybe we'd be more interested in THAT real news story if Jamie Lynne's baby daddy were in uniform.

Sad to say, there's an awful lot of people in this world who could care less about news unless it's Hollywood gossip. Add the fact that the news media needs ratings and well, there you go with priorities.
I'd like to wish our troops, our veterans and all their families a wonderful Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and a Peaceful New Year.
Thank you all for your service, I have not forgotten you. Take Care and my prayers are with you.

In my opinion, it is a national disgrace that while this country is at war with soldiers dying, our news outlets are focusing on the stories of the spoiled lives of Jamie, Britney, Paris, Lindsay and so on.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the fate of our soldiers should be the number one story every day in every newspaper and on every news show.

Right on, Jamie! No, you are not the only one sick of it. Jamie Lynn, OJ, Drew Peterson, John Mark Karr...it's always something. Meanwhile, we're fighting two wars, have a health care system in shambles, and an environment on the brink. The coverage of trivial matters is shameful.

Hurrah Jamie! Thank you for telling it like it is! There are days when I think our "news networks" have turned into gossip networks.

We have a slumping economy, soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, a presidential campaign that is sinking to the depths of distastefulness with their Christmas ads, climate change, health care worries, and a whole host of "substance" stories that could be covered.

A 16 year old who got pregnant by her boyfriend isn't news - even if her last name is Spears. The only place this should be covered is the National Inquirer.

I’m with you Jamie!! Don’t forget about Afghanistan too!! We have thousands of troops around the world serving the country, being torn apart from their own families during the holiday season but yet…there’s more press about a 16 year old that got knocked up. Please. The only thing I find humorous is that the mother’s parenting handbook got delayed. Hopefully indefinitely.
