The Karachi Limited

It has been an interesting 24 hours. After learning of Benazir Bhutto's assassination, we set out to make it to Pakistan for Friday night's program. It takes around 16 hours to get to Pakistan from New York, and those 16 hours have been critical to the story. Will Pakistanis around the country show their grief through violence, or will they quietly remember their hero and move towards polling in early January? We're just landed in Karachi so we'll step out and try to find out what happened while we were in the air.... and what might be next for this country.

Charlie,
I would like to hear more about the upcoming elections in Pakistan on tonight's program. Last night I heard US presidential hopefuls say the election should be held on time, but some Pakistanis on the ground feel they should be postponed. What is best for the country... postpone the elections, or have them on time?

I hope the people will stop the violence and continue towards electing a government in January or whenever it is scheduled. I also hope that the current President does not use Bhutto's death and the violence after it to postpone the election indefinitely. Perhaps its cynical but using her death to establish himself as a dictator for life would not be surprising.

Whatever you all find just be careful. Stay safe.

I hope that the Pakistani people will choose peace over violence! Maybe they can speak with their votes and kick out the "dictatorship" that rules now!

It is the uneducated and weak who turn to violence at a time like this. According is Islam, those closest to the deceased follow a three-day mourning period, with the widow or widower observing a four month and ten day time of mourning . These are the guidelines from the Qur'an .

You usually provide many side notes the the main issue of a story and we are grateful . It helps to put a country into context when ac360 illustrates how a country and region fit into the overall world picture. For example, bringing the angle of the upcoming election in Pakistan into this is important. And thank you for traveling to such a dangerous place to bring us the full story.

The 360 Degree coverage by Anderson Cooper has not covered anything. The program is a waste of time. No stories. What we expect from the program is detailed interview with people including locals and their views.

More real news and pictures/videos is appreciated. It is just waste of viewers time going all the way to Pakistan and just talking with one guy in an isolated location. Cooper rather covered it from here.
