Your reaction to Lt. Gen. Sanchez's comments?
We're leading the program with comments by Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez, former commander of U.S. troops in Iraq. Lt. Gen. Sanchez today referred to the situation in Iraq as "a nightmare with no end in sight."

Tonight's blog question is: do you agree with him? Why or why not?

Share your comments here on the blog. We'll also be reading some of them during the show tonight.

Lt Gen. Sanchez contributed to this mess, yet he's saying we're not doing things right. So is he admitting he also had a hand in creating the 'nightmare' scenario?

I put General Petraeus' credibility rating above that of a retired officer, so if the current General says Iraq is going well, I am going to have to agree with him and disagree with someone who had personal failures in Iraq.

How interesting that a commander of U.S. troops in Iraq would call it a nightmare with no end in sight. Could that be why he is now a former commander?

Someone once said that the secret to success is to lower your expectations until they have already been met. Can't we just set some quickly attainable goals in Iraq and then just get out?

I don't think any of us really know what the heck is going on over there now. But have you ever noticed that retired men are disagreeable and cantankerous? Therefore, I have to disagree with Sanchez and believe our troops are getting the job done!

OH...Yeah I totally agree with him! I think we are damned if we stay and damned if we don't! If we stay alot more of our troops will die...if we don't alot of innocent Iraqi's die and the rest of the world blames the turmoil that will ensue on us! It is a no win situation!!

Lt. Sanchez might be unable to find the nine-figure job with Halliburton he was looking for, the job other retired generals usually find, so that may be why he's angry. Just a thought.

I don't think Lt. Gen. Sanchez is a good person to frame the success or failure of Iraq because his own life is in a volatile state, with him having been the commander of troops in the Abu Gharib scandal.

Here's a man who says he was forced to retire and was not offered any command after Abu Ghraib. He's got huge issues. Whether or not people agree with him is irrelevant in my view because I think he's out for revenge himself now.

I absolutely agree with Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez. He just stated what most Americans have been saying for a while now. I just wish someone could figure out how to end this war and get our troops home.

I agree with Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez‘s comment on “ a nightmare with no end in sight”. There was never a good war or a bad peace. It has gotten worse to a point where the reason to war has lost its reason. Only mankind could end the war, or war itself will put an end to mankind….but not in the case to the situation in Iraq.

fooled me once, shame on you...fooled me twice, shame on ME...we're being fooled in Iraq

Where is our vice-president Dick Cheney??? Haven't seen him in the news for several weeks? How does our media overlook his absence? The American people should know what is going on with their elected officials, especially the VP of the USA! Where is Cheney?
