Thanks for the always-entertaining "RAW POLITICS". . . if only we could channel that money to do some good in the world instead of it going to elect politicians.

Once we start talkin' millions, you've lost me, but what if we limit each candidate to say , Ten Million Dollars. Wouldn't that even the playing field a little?

I have to keep reminding myself that campaign money comes from individuals like you and I. People choose to spend their own money on getting their favorite Presidental candid. elected rather than give their money to cancer research, AIDS in Africa or other worthy causes.

Stars on the red carpet? Celebs speaking for me? Right. I wait to see who Hollywood is "endorsing", then I vote for the exact opposite .

Tom/AC360:
$3 billion is a whole lot of moola spent on political advertising that will be switched instantly with a TV remote or thrown out with the rest of the junk mail.

My advice: Tune into the all the political debates for information and check out the candidates websites, then compare the issues. It is called an educated vote.

Let the Daily Show and late night Leno or Letterman juggle the ridiculous campaign ad bites.

Is that campaign cash taxable as income for the Presidential candidates? - just wondering.

I guess I'd pay more attention to the celebrities who make endorsements; but sometimes I think it's all about getting attention and publicity with them.

I guess it's fun to watch the parade of Hollywood-types come out for election campaigns, but in the end it's what the millions of average American do in the polling places that counts.

Tom,

I can sum it up in five words. They are greedy, egotistical and disgusting!

I would much rather see you win your "snarky" prize! I do think it should be best male actor in a leading role, however!

3 billion dollars....are you kidding me!!!

This truly says a lot about what those "people" running for predident think of our country. They will spend more money in the next twelve months on frivilous garbage while there are children killing children in schools.

THAT money could be used to solve the issues of school safety, build better housing in low-income areas that would allow children to have hope of a better tomorrow, find a cure for cancer, devise a way to stop global warming, the CHIPS program for children without insurance that fall into the "gap", send medicine to Africa to stave off the growing epidemic of AIDS, find a cure for AIDS......the list is ENDLESS.

Yet they think that all that money spent on junk with their pictures on it and their holier-than-thou names on will elect them to office where all of these issues will be moot because they will use the excuse, "we don't have the money....let's raise taxes." Money mongers...

This proves the money is out there...it is just a question of what is a true priority to those with this kind of cash. Where does the allegiance lie? It is pathetic.

Just remember...."The love of money is the root of ALL evil." 1 Timothy 6:10
