Families looking for answers
Qualcomm Stadium is used to big crowds cheering on the San Diego Chargers. Today the stands are littered with cots and families camping out, tossing blankets over rows of seats for makeshift privacy walls. They're waiting and wondering what will happen to their homes, places of work, and houses of worship.

At this point, we don't have a whole lot to tell them other than we think the governor and the secretary of homeland security will be coming here soon. I'm just noticing my eyes are getting irritated. The smoke is getting thicker.

Let's take a minute to thank the firefighters, law enforcement and elected officials for helping out. Seeing our local communities stepping up to bat for each other reflects what a great state and nation we live in.

I wonder why, if the forecast was for such high winds, the power would not have been cut before the lines were blown down and caused some of these fires?

I d like to put it out there that environmentalists and their allies in Congress only seem concerned that some of the "old growth" trees will be damaged in the process of thinning the nation's tinder traps. Their opposition to controlled burns only make these wildfires easier to spread and go out of control.

They got good use out of those FEMA trailers in the Gulf Coast area, right? Time to send them to California.

Stay safe, get a mask like you all used covering Katrina. I saw on your coverage just now that Schwarzenegger is there and doing what he can do to help; I'm sure his presence there and his obvious concern about his citizens are emotionally fortifying to the victims. My thoughts are with you and the 360 crew and all the firefighters and victims and everyone else affected by this wildfire. Thank you for covering this story. Unfortunately, you may have a lot of these kinds of stories to cover in the years to come.

Hi, I heard durring the night on fox news early this morning that there were rumors that the taliban had been planning 7 fires in 4 different states ie...arizona, montana, wyoming and colorado are we sure they didn't mean california! i am very curious to see what investigators will find after the drama calms down and the fires are put out! My heart goes out to everyone...God bless you all...

There is so much empty space in the USA, beautiful country. Why do people want to live where they know they are in peril? I just don't understand this.
It seems that old habits die hard. But if these people would get on the internet and see some of the gorgeous land in our country, they would decide to make a move to more stable environments.

First I would like to say to the people affected by these fires, my heart goes out to you. However, I must say I see double standards here. Rich, upper middle class land owners have received better treatment in the last day than those poor lower middle class land owners could not get in seven during hurricane Katrina. Yes Yes i understand there are diffrent circumstances here, but natural disaster none the less. American people, we need change they way we are before we destroy ourselves. Or is it too late?
