The face of the fire
Our assignment was to go live for American Morning. We found a site to broadcast from in North San Diego, then went to bed for three hours sleep.

When we got to the live location at 130 this morning, the "Today" show had stolen our spot!!! We settled for across the street. Soon Matt Lauer was doing his deal a stone's throw away. It didn't matter, the whole street was torched. Much of the neighborhood actually, it's crazy.

Our assigment today was to talk to people who were in shelters. No doubt many of the people we visited had lost their homes to the fire and didn't even know it yet. I've seen the look on someone's face when their home is gone, I can't imagine what it feels like.

Well Rob - you're suppose to guard your space so low-lifes like those other networks don't steal your place.

I can't imagine either, what it feels like to lose everything. But we'll keep praying for the firefighters and the residents of CA while the Bush-haters keep griping about unrelated issues. God Bless the USA!

I feel terrible for these people who are losing their homes, but they know there is a high risk of fire when living in these locations. Im going out on a limb here when I say there will be fires in these areas again!

Sorry Rob, but it's not all about your hardship in getting to California and finding a location. People are losing their homes for crying out loud. Think about that , and stop worrying about yourself and which network will have the advantage.

So Rob, is this just a coincidence or does climate change have anything to do with this? Would you like to make up some kind of excuse for it? Ask the experts on climate change first, because you aren't one.

Umm, the "experts" on climate change can't agree on global warming, so what makes 8:36 such an expert?

Rob does weather reporting and has for many years, I believe him before I listen to 8:36s opinion as I have a feeling that 8:36 believes what s/he reads on the internet and watches on TV.

I think you're doing a good job and I admire what you said last week about Global Warming & Katrina. I respect and admire Al Gore also, but nothing has been proven yet. Was global warming resposible for the 1938 hurricane that destroyed what was the village in Montauk, Long Island, back then?
