Do you think President Bush is a lame duck?
A lame duck is a term used to describe an elected official who seems to have less political power because they are nearing the end of their last term in office. Does it apply to President Bush? He can't run again. He has just 15 months left in the Oval Office and with a democratic-led Congress, we ask:

Do you think President Bush is a lame duck?

Hey...congress is as much of a lame duck as it seems President Bush is! It seems neither of them can get anything done!! LOL

I don't think President Bush is a lame duck in the traditional way we think of a lame duck. He can't run again, but even with a democratic congress he still calls the shots.The republicans may give the impression that they are keeping away from him but not in good enough numbers. They are still good at the game.

No, I don't think he's a lame duck because he will use his veto power whenever he can--like when he vetoed a plan expanding the children's health insurance program. I think he'll use his veto power until the very end.

Maybe we butchered Bush too much. Lets cut him loose if his fellow republicans can pull off this election. We could wait until the youtube debate of the republicans and see which duck comes out first.

Not only is President George W. Bush a lame duck, (Congress included) he is also detached from reality in that he does not care or listen to the American people when we are screaming please protect our borders, bring our troops home in a timely and safe manner, and provide more security at our ports of entry into the USA. I could go on and on, but it wouldn't do any good when the lame duck is not interested and is plugging his ears to American's voices.

Silly Duck? Can ducks be that bad to be categorized as war-causing creatures, cause of human death, make such wrong decisions that causes a whole country to be ruined. I have not met any ducks, no matter how silly they were, with such characters... The only ducks I met were cute and gave carrying and even their life for their offspring...

I agree with Lilibeth. Even if the Democrats have more power in Congress he's still the president - the mightiest person in the world - and he still decides with his veto power about what kind of decisions are made or not.

For me, it is not even a matter of debate anymore- President Bush is a lame duck. He's lost a great deal of his moral authority as President and a World leader and has displayed the highest possible inefficiency and ineffectiveness in his most important policy so far. What else can he offer or say...?

It may seem as though he's run out of steam, especially when we take into account the intense election campaigns that are already underway. Yet 15 months is still a long time and his title as President will continue for those months--you never know, Bush may come up with something completely unpredictable as a last effort with his presidency. I just hope that those around him, and the Congress can work to keep things under control. We don't need any more mishaps.

Is Bush a lame duck? I know for sure he is a lame brain. (Can I say that?) I don't think he is yet to be considered a lame duck, however. No matter how little time he has left he is determined to destroy the Dems, as they cannot acquire the votes needed and if they do acquire them, his honor will call out the Veto again.

He isn't smart enough to understand that he is hurting his country, his party, and any confidence many voters still had for the GOP is slowly fading.

The other night my husband went to a political meeting/dinner.
I was home for dinner with my 2 children.

My son had numerous questions about what they do at the dinner. Who was going to be there? What was going to be discussed? He had numerous questions about being the President of the United States including the boxer and brief discussion and wondered if I thought the President wore "grandpa pajamas" like his own grandfather. (I am not kidding.) I think he wanted to know if there were "official" US President pj's. You know just in case you have to get up in the middle of the night for something really important. ie: Would the President walk from the private residence to the West Wing in his pj's if it was like really important? The list went on and on for dinner.

My daughter, age 4, laughed through most of the discussion. I made a comment to son about the President being a lame duck and had to explain what a lame duck was to him.

After I explained the concept, my daughter replied, "Mommy, I am still confused, how can you be a lamb and a duck at the same time?

I have been reading the news of California Burning. People are too much busy talking about their own political agendas slapping on each other's face.

I have never heard a single word who and what causes such a massive wildfire every year in the region?
