Let me guess, y'all are lined up waiting to talk to Blair today. :P

I still think the entire "Iraq Study Group" was a whole bunch of nothing. Instead of forming "study groups" why don't they just DO something. Throwing good money after bad never works, does it?

Lets not spend the entire two hours about Cheney's daughter. This is a private matter between the family and their privacy should be respected. I know they have gone public with this, but lets not spend time on stories that are so personal and not obsess on what this means to conservatives and liberals. I couldn't care less what Mary Cheney, or my neighbor, or my co-worker or whoever does in their personal life.

My head is exploding!! Am I getting this press conference wrong, or are Bush and Blair insinuating that they will stay in Iraq untill they succeed?
I wonder what this might mean for Afghanistan too. Shouldn't they finish one war before getting into another in the first place?
Our new Canadian Prime Minister seems to think Mr. Bush is great and he would love to send more troops in. What now for this world?

I don't understand why Cheney having a baby is news. There are many gay/lesbian couples that have kids!

Last night the news about the Hero Father James Kim brought tears to my eyes .
I thought,
Quoting Shakespeare from Hamlet
"What a piece of work is man!
How noble in reason!
how infinite in faculties!
in form and moving, how express and admirable!
in action how like an angel! "

Yet there are people like George W. Bush , Dick Chenny , Donald Rumsfield ...

I wish Mary Cheney and a partner a healthy baby. I can't believe we are still having this debate about gays(marriage or parents). It is not to the government or the church to decide who should be with whom and under what conditions. I went to the wedding of two of my male gay friends this summer and if they wanted to adopt, I would support them. They are more stable than some people I know.

Anderson, one of your guest really pissed me off last night. Janice something...What is that nonsense? I was raised by a single mom, the father left when I was 5. I never did drugs, never smoked a cigarette, have been working since the age of 15, went to the University. Anderson, you too turn out good and you lost your father young. I'm a single mom, raising my 11 years old son. The father is in the picture, it was hard for a while, but I've been told by teachers that my son is better well adjusted than kids with both parents in the home. He is funny, intelligent, independent, straight "A" student, have been accepted with flying colors in a private college for high school. When people tell me that he is polite, disciplined and has a lot of conversation for his age, I know I'm doing something good. You have to make a choice when your child comes into your life to give him love, attention, guidance,COMMUNICATION,give him/her your time.

The important thing is to listen to the child. Who cares if it's with a man & woman, alone, man/man,woman/woman!!

As for Dick Cheney, well, you have to laugh at the irony. He's reprenting a party that is against gays. Nice discussions in view!!

As for the intolerance against gays, it like any subject. Ignorance leads to prejudice, leads to intolerance, leads to violence.

The story about the father dying trying to save his family is so sad but is a wonderful sign of unconditionnal love. I hope the family will have support.

It was awful to hear the news that James Kim perished trying to save his family. He must've been in agony worrying about their fate and knowing he couldn't carry on. Such a tragic story.

It's unfathomable to think that there are people like the woman Anderson interviewed last night who just can't see that it's in a child's best interest to have parents who are loving, involved and supportive. What difference does it make whether the parents happen to be a same-sex couple? Dan Savage had it right, heterosexual couples don't have the monopoly on raising well-adjusted kids.

We PAID for that "report"? These "study group" people didn't even go out of the green zone in Iraq. Their advice that we withdraw was predictable and typical of the appeasement mentality. I'd rather have seen that money go to armored vehicles for our troops.

Hi~
I think it is wonderful that Mary Cheney and her partner of 15 years are expecting a child. I disagree with other blogers. I think until the hate is gone, we DO need to talk about this issue! Janice Crouse and all those who talk about children needing a Mother AND Father are so wrong. I am speaking from experience. I had a horrible marriage to an abusive man. We had two children. Although I made an extra effort to make sure my children were safe and happy, it was often traumatic for them, until I divorced the creep. What I am saying is that it would be far more a stable environment for children to have TWO loving parents no matter the gender or sexuality. Conservatives need to get over their homophobia, and try love on for size.
How very tragic that James Kim was not found alive. He is a hero for his efforts to save his family.
Bush And Blair~ yep, it looks like the war will go on, just as Bush planned. I wonder what goes on in that man's head? I don't get it. The scary part is I don't think he gets it either!

What Mary Cheney chooses to do is none of our busness...

PERSONALLY, I THINK OUR PRESIDENT IS AN ARROGANT SELF CENTERED INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN CARE LESS HOW MANY LOVED ONES ARE BEING BURIED, NOT ONLY IN IRAQ, BUT IN OUR OWN HOMELAND. IRAQIS THEMSELVES HAVE STATED THAT BUSH'S POLICY HASNT IMPROVED ANYTHING, THEY THEMSELVES WOULD RATHER AMERICANS LEAVE AND LET THE PROBLEM BE CORRECTED WITHIN THE MIDDLE EAST, YES IT WOULD BE SELFISH SINCE WE STARTED THIS "NO PURPOSE" WAR IN IRAQ. THIS ALL BEGAN WITH 9/11 AND OSAMA BIN LADEN, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO HIM? NOW WE ARE IN A SITUATION WHERE AMERICANS HAVE LOST ALL FAITH AND RESPECT FOR OUR GOVERNMENT AS A WHOLE. WHAT CAN THE AMERICAN PUBLIC DO TO MAKE OUR VOICES BE HEARD, AND BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.

What a surprise that Cheney's daughter is going to have a baby I never saw that coming... Bush says it's bad in Iraq of course it is and we need to find a resolution or get out of there. the father giving his own life to save his children is a hero. It is truly amazing that he walked 8 miles in rough terrain to get help for his family. I'll see you on Anderson Cooper 360...
God Bless,

Just finished reading Live from Baghad by former CNN executive producer Robert Wiener, in there it is stated the Iraqis called the first Pres Bush President Bosh, the word bosh in Arabic means nothing , or President Nothing. Wonder if the Iraqis refer to Dubya as President Bosh also.

The ISG report certainly has the 'big dogs' out marking their territory. The most notable thing is that McCain is in as big of a reality vaccuum as Bush. Hey, McCain believe it, the troop numbers are not there. It sort of a consequence of your votes to back the Rummy-Bush plan without question or oversight.

What did Ben Weideman report: 2000 Iraqis fleeing Iraq each day.

Mary's baby--so. I'm more worried about the 'families' that are being blown apart by the Crusaders and families trying to live on $5+ an hour without health insurance or the illegal drugs coming across the unprotected borders. Priorities just amaze me.

I am so sorry the search ended as it did! My heart aches for his wife and daughters.

Is Ms. Cheney's pregnancy really news? Saying congratulations is one thing, but all of this press is disrespectful to her and her family. This shouldn't be overshadowing the Kim story, the Iraq Report story, and many other NEWS-worthy stories. Give her a break.

While the "Rule of 3's" may serve as a general rule of thumb- it still has to be weighed by additional facts, such as being able to live for three weeks without food applies to a healthy adult. That rule won't apply to the sick, elderly or very young.

James Kim had a baby in that car with little provisions. Even so, he and his family satyed in the car for nine days before he decided to trek out to find help.

Faced with the choice of continuing to stay in the car and grow weaker with each passing day and hoping that you will be found, or make an attempt to save your family- the decision isn't as cut and dried as we may like them to be.

The story could have turned either way. Had he not gone for help and they weren't found in time, all the weekend quarterbacks would have said he should have searched the area, as a lodge was nearby.

Sometimes there are no easy answers to the choices that are available.

I would like to extend my thoughts to Kati Kim for the HEROIC job SHE did to keep those children alive. While saddened over the loss of Mr. Kim and realizing that he is a hero for trying to save his family, I want the Mom to know she too is to be commended for her bravery. I cannot imagine what you went through. We are so proud of you both! My prayers are with you and your entire family that you may find some comfort during this difficult time.
