Unidentified warplanes bomb Tajikistan, no one hurt

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- Unidentified warplanes bombed Tajikistan's northeastern Dzhirgatal region, an Interior Ministry official said on Monday.
The official said the attack could be linked to the kidnapping of four Kyrgyz officials near the Tajik border by 21 gunmen who crossed from Tajikistan. The hostages were later released.
The suspected kidnappers, who spoke in Russian and Uzbek, are currently surrounded by Kyrgyz forces around the village of Zardaly, 35 km (20 miles) from the Tajik border region of Dzhirgatal.
At least four bombs were dropped on the Kushagba and Maidon-Terak villages near the border with Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, the source said.
No one was hurt in the bombing raid but several buildings were destroyed.
