The Clintons mingled with prospective neighbors after

On Saturday, President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham
Clinton, accompanied by their daughter, Chelsea, mingled with
prospective neighbors after spending more than two hours
inspecting a house in Westchester County, a suburb north of
New York City.
The president pronounced the house -- a five-bedroom Colonial
with swimming pool sitting on slightly more than an acre of
land -- "very nice."
"But we don't have an announcement yet," said Clinton, who
said they were looking for "some place nice and airy that
will make Hillary happy."
The real estate company that is listing the property,
Westchester-based Houlihan/Lawrence, would not reveal the
listed price. However, a neighboring real-estate company,
Holmes & Kennedy, said the house is listed at $1,695,000.
The Clintons came to New York from Martha's Vineyard,
Massachusetts, where they had been vacationing. From suburban
Westchester, they moved on to the tony Hamptons on Long
Island for a weekend of events expected to raise nearly $2
million -- including $400,000 for the first lady's expected
campaign for a U.S. Senate seat in New York in 2000.

Hillary Clinton must establish a New York residence by
November to run for the Senate.
The weekend in the Hamptons will be followed by five more
days of vacation, this time in upstate New York.
But it won't be all rest and relaxation for Hillary Clinton.
She plans to visit the state fair and wander into town a few
times to mingle with the people she hopes to represent in the
Senate come January 2001.
